Frequently Asked Questions

What file types can I upload?

ActiveDraft turns common documents into fully collaborative PDFs in seconds. Currently, ActiveDraft can convert the following file types: png, .jpeg, .tiff, .dwg, .dxf, .pdf, .doc, .docx, .rtf, .xls, .xlsx, .ppt, .pptx, .odt, .ods, .odp and .txt – with more extensions coming soon!

What types of measurements can I make?

The ActiveDraft measurement tool allows users to measure length, polylength, and area using imperial, metric, or custom scales.

What's the difference between a workspace member and a guest?

Users who have been assigned a Workspace Member license will have full access to add files, create projects, and mark up/measure documents. Workspace Members can also assign and be assigned tasks.

Guests do not have access to upload files, create projects, or mark up/measure documents. They do have access to view documents and respond to our leave comments within documents, however.

Does ActiveDraft work with Apple devices?

Yes. Because ActiveDraft is a browser-based solution, our software can be used across most internet-enabled devices, including desktop and laptop computers running both Windows and Mac operating systems. ActiveDraft can also be used on iOS and Android-based tablet devices.

Do you offer real-time collaboration?

Yes. ActiveDraft was designed with collaboration at its core. All documents stored in ActiveDraft are collaborative by default without the needs to start any type of session. Markup, comments, and task assignments can be done by multiple users at the same time in real-time or asynchronously.

Do you have an iPhone or iPad app?

Yes, the ActiveDraft app for iOS is currently available for download in the Apple App Store. At the moment, the app is iPhone only but we anticipate rolling out a version for iPad in the near future.

If you’d like to use ActiveDraft on iPad, you can access ActiveDraft via your iPad’s web browser.
